UI Designer (m/f/x)
Egosoft, the creators of the popular X space simulation game series, are looking for a User Interface Designer who will work closely with our artists and the programming team to define and establish a shared vision for UI design. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for visual quality and a good understanding of the design basics. Using your skills, you will shape the delivery of key information to the players, using our own, self-developed engine.
You are confident in using the necessary tools and you strive for high standards. You document and share your progress as well as identify difficulties that arise, react in a solution-oriented manner and support your colleagues with advice and assistance.
This is a full-time position based in Würselen, Germany, and available immediately. Relocation assistance is offered.
Your skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in UI design in the video games industry
- Strong understanding of user interface design concepts like layout, text, and widgets
- Ability to collaborate with different disciplines to discuss features with respect to design challenges
- Experience with HTML5, CSS and Javascript is a big plus
- Proficiency with Adobe Animate, Adobe XD, Adobe Illustrator/Affinity Designer and/or equivalent tools
Nice to have:
- Fondness for simulation games
- Knowledge of the X series games, and/or similar sci-fi simulation games
- Experience collaborating with artists, game designers and programmers to understand player behavior and patterns to ensure an engaging product

VFX Artist (m/f/x)
Egosoft, the creators of the popular X space simulation game series, are looking for an experienced VFX Artist to work with us on the future of the X series. As a VFX artist at Egosoft you will drive and refine the gameplay and environmental effects in our games and ensure their efficiency as well as visual quality. You will work in close collaboration with the Lead Artist as well as the other members of the art team.
You are confident in using the necessary tools and you strive for high standards. You document and share your progress as well as identify difficulties that arise, react in a solution-oriented manner and support your colleagues with advice and assistance.
This is a full-time position based in Würselen, Germany, and available immediately. Relocation assistance is offered.
Your skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of VFX experience in the games industry
- Strong skills in Blender
- 3D modelling skills to create meshes required for VFX
- Experience in dynamics, modelling, lighting, image processing
- Real-time VFX skills, including timing, composition, colour and how VFX provide gameplay feedback
- Good understanding of how to optimize VFX for memory and performance while maintaining visual quality
- Good eye for creating realistic particle effects
Nice to have:
- Ability to communicate an artistic vision
- Experience in Fork Particle Studio
- Experience with XML file structures
- Experience with node-based material generation workflows

Universe / Level Designer (m/f/x)
Egosoft, the creators of the popular X space simulation game series, are looking for a Universe / Level Designer with extensive knowledge of our games to work with us on the future of the X series. As a Universe / Level Designer at Egosoft, you will create high-quality universe environments and map out their layout so that they function within the rules of our space sandbox / simulation game. This is done in close continuous coordination with the art and design teams.
You are confident in using the necessary tools and you strive for high standards. You document and share your progress as well as identify difficulties that arise, react in a solution-oriented manner and support your colleagues with advice and assistance.

Your skills:
- Extensive knowledge of X4: Foundations and / or previous games of the X series
- Ability to own and define the player experience, pacing and flow, while working on improving it in close continuous coordination with our artists and game designers
- Confident in using 3D Editing Tools
- Experience with XML file structures
- Good understanding of light and composition, as well as scene optimization
- Ability to communicate an artistic vision
Nice to have:
- Previous experience in Level Design
