The weeks are flying by, and we are getting closer and closer to the release of the big 4.00 update for X4: Foundations, and of course our next expansion, X4: Cradle of Humanity, on March 16, 2021. That means that it's time for a new beta release!

The focus of Beta 9 is on further improvements to combat simulation, mining, workforce, and capital ship movement between sectors. You can find the full list in our forum.

How do I participate in the public beta?
Every player who owns X4: Foundations will have the opportunity to download the new beta version 4.00. To ensure that beta participants are aware of the Risks and Rules, we ask that all interested players visit our forum for both rules and disclaimers, as well as practical instructions on how to participate in the beta. If you've been looking for videos about X4: Foundations on YouTube over the past nine months, you'll have no doubt come across Captain Collins' channel. During this time, the content creator has published a number of helpful YouTube videos about the game, and inspired his live viewers through regular livestreams on Twitch.

In a special broadcast, Egosoft CEO and founder Bernd Lehahn will attend the Captain Collins livestream on February 25, 2021 (4pm CET / 3pm GMT / 10am EST / 7am PST).

Among other things, the conversation will cover the current status of X4: Foundations and the soon to be released 4.00 update, as well as the new expansion X4: Cradle of Humanity. Captain Collins will also incorporate a few questions from the live chat.

The livestream will take place on Captain Collins' Twitch channel (twitch.tv/CaptainCollins), and will also be hosted on our own channel (twitch.tv/egosoftofficial).

Quelques mois se sont écoulés depuis l'annonce de X4: Le berceau de l'humanité lors de la gamescom 2020 et le début de la phase de beta pour la mise à jour 4.00 de X4: Foundations. Grâce aux nombreux efforts de l'équipe, en télétravail depuis bientôt un an, nous pouvons maintenant annoncer le nouveau chapitre de notre simulation spatiale X4: Foundations.

Cette mise à jour majeure, qui sera disponible à tous les possesseurs du jeu dès sa sortie, améliore X4: Foundations sur de nombreux aspects, dont de toutes nouvelles fonctionnalités de jeu et des améliorations techniques importantes. Des détails sur certaines de ces fonctionnalités, comme le brouillard volumétrique, la terraformation comme activité de fin de partie ou les nouveaux moyens pour gérer les hostilités, ont été déjà dévoilés. X4: Le berceau de l'humanité est la seconde extension de X4: Foundations et ramène la série X vers la Terre. Elle augmente significativement la taille de l'univers du jeu avec de nouveaux secteurs et deux factions terriennes avec leur économie, leurs vaisseaux, leur armement et leurs staions. De nouveaux départs de jeu amènent les joueurs à comprendre leur identité et leur position politique, mais offrent aussi de nouvelles perspectives sur les évènements dans l'histoire de X4: Foundations.

We're making great strides towards the big release of our 4.00 update and the new X4: Cradle of Humanity expansion. You've probably got used to how this works by now, so it will come as no surprise that we've released another new beta version for 4.00! Download the new version now and dive in.

Among other things, beta 7 includes the following changes:

• A new Emergency Eject feature that places you in your space suit if your ship gets destroyed.
  
• The next iteration of the Terraforming feature.
  
• More improvements to the way miners make use of resource probes.
  
• Better simulation of combat in distant sectors.
  
• More details in to the Transaction Log.
  
• Lots more juicy bugs squashed.

Cela fait maintenant plus de deux ans que X4: Foundations est sorti et beaucoup parmi vous ont joué au jeu pendant plusieurs centaines d'heures. Nous ne pourrions en être plus heureux ! Si vous vous demandez ce que vous pouvez faire de plus dans le jeu, alors ce qui suit est pour vous.

Pour ceux qui ont une abondance de ressources inutilisées, nous ajoutons une nouvelle activité de fin de partie dans la 4.00. Cela implique l'initialisation de projets pour l'amélioration planétaire, dont le développement de plusieurs infrastructures avec pour but de rendre habitables des planètes spécifiques. Nous appelon ça la "Terraformation" et vous nous avez certainement déjà entendu en parler pendant notre live-stream de la gamescom 2020.

En ce qui concerne le jeu, vous accomplirez de nouvelles missions qui serviront de point d'entrée à la terraformation. Des colonies se formeront et les paysages changeront grâce à un investissement en terme de temps et de ressources. Et si la modification de l'univers n'était pas suffisante, il pourrait y avoir d'autres récompenses.

Mais que ce soit bien clair : il n'y aura pas d'atterrissage sur les planètes ! En revanche, elles seront bien plus présentes que dans n'importe quel jeux de la série X à ce jour.. Nous apprécierons avoir vos retours sur cette nouvelle fonctionnalité, surtout si vous êtes un de ces pilotes d'expérience.

New week, new beta! The sixth public beta for the 4.00 update of X4: Foundations is now available to download.

We've fixed an unfortunate gas resource depletion issue that was introduced in beta 5 last week. If you're using a 4.00 beta 5 savegame, we're topping up gas to 50% of the cargo hold on all stations that need gas as a resource, to get your production processes rolling again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Among other things, beta 6 also includes:

• Several enhancements to the new Coordinated Attack feature.
  
• Fixes and adjustments to the new Terraforming feature.
  
• Better map behaviour when you are under Cover for a mission.
  
• As always, various other improvements and fixes.
