Egosoft is pleased to announce the release of X3: Terran Conflict 2.0 for the Mac OS X operating system. This version of the game has been developed for OS X by Virtual Programming Ltd, a specialist software developer for the Mac platform. Mr Mark Hinton, the VP Ltd CEO and Director of New Business, stated that every effort has been made to make sure that their customers have a gameplay experience on the Mac platform as close as possible to that on the PC which, with Terran Conflict, has been quite a challenge.

Since the originally-planned release, the OS X operating system has seen the advent of the widely-acclaimed Snow Leopard update, which presented VP Ltd with further challenges in the game's development. With all challenges now overcome, VP Ltd and Egosoft welcome OS X users to the X-Universe and invite them to begin a journey of exploration, commerce and endless space adventure in the ultimate chapter in the X trilogy, taking the player from the furthest reaches of the X- Universe to Earth itself.

The X3: Terran Conflict 2.5 update is now available to download. As you have come to expect, this update brings new features, improvements and bugfixes. On top of that, Copy Protection has been removed!

It has now been a year since X3: Terran Conflict went gold and we hope you have enjoyed the ride so far. In 2.5 we have included several improvements to excite moguls and battle-masters alike as Complexes and Marines receive new features to aid in their management. Also, as many of you have experienced, keeping track of a huge fleet of Fighters, Freighters and Marines can be a mind boggling task. That is why we have added new filter and sorting options to the property menu, as well as a whole page dedicated to Marines.

There are many other improvements and fixes in 2.5 which are listed in the change log. Bored Universal Traders no longer stray into Xenon Sectors looking for trouble and the long standing Flak Misfire issue has been addressed by Commonwealth weapon engineers. Older savegames can also expect a nice performance boost as a memory leak has been fixed.

With the Copy Protection removed, DVD users can now play without the DVD and Online Activation users no longer need to worry about how many times they reinstall.

Terran Conflict players who bought their game from Steam are reminded that their Steam client will automatically update the game and that there is no need to download the patch from Egosoft.com.

But make this Superbox worth its name we'd like to include fan made stuff and started an international call on our forums for content that fits in the box. The variety of what we want to include is quite huge, so you better take a look in our forums.

X3: Terran Conflict 2.0 - The Aldrin Missions The latest installment of the X Trilogy was recently released on PC-DVD in the United States, while the 2.0 update was also made available to existing Terran Conflict players from Egosoft.com and also via Steam. We're pleased to announce that Update 2.0 for X3: Terran Conflict, which features The Aldrin Missions, is now available for download from Egosoft.com.

After a few months of patient waiting since Update 1.4, players of X3: Terran Conflict can now get their hands on the 2.0 patch. This update, which has undergone more widespread testing than is normally the case, features not only an extension to the original Terran Conflict story, but also a new ship variation, new sectors to explore, Terran stations to build and much more adventure!

The Terran Conflict development team and our network of betatesters have been conducting their own version of Operation Final Fury against some of the niggling issues that our community has brought to our attention. Universe Traders, propping up bars in local trading stations, got a swift kick up the backside to get them back to work. The OTAS Boreas has undergone some much-needed balancing. A number of other key issues have also been addressed, including improved support for PCs equipped with more than 2GB of RAM.

Terran Conflict players who bought their game from Steam are reminded that their Steam client will automatically update the game and that there is no need to download the patch from Egosoft.com.

Owners of the X3: Terran Conflict PC-DVD (versions 1.0.1 to 1.4) are invited to download the 2.0 patch from here.

While you all download and start to enjoy X3: Terran Conflict 2.0, you can be assured that we at Egosoft will keep on beavering away, possibly at another little update called 2.1!

IMPORTANT NOTE: During the final packing of the 2.0 patch a data error occured, the effect of which did not become apparent until after the patch was released. This error has now been corrected and new versions of the patch will be offered as version 2.0a. For those who have already applied the 2.0 patch a smaller hotfix (version 2.0a) will be available. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and hope it does not affect your enjoyment of the game.

Note: UK-based fans should be aware that the licensing agreement for X3: Gold Edition means it will not be available from UK retailers, but the game still includes full English text and voice support.
