    10.Jun.09 X3: Terran Conflict 2.1 has arrived!  (167 Comments)
The much anticipated 2.1 update, which features a host of new content, is now available to download from Egosoft.com.

A couple of months have passed since Terran Conflict 2.0 was released around the world and particularly for the first time in the United States. We welcome any new fans who have recently discovered the X-Universe. In keeping with Egosoft’s commitment to post-release support and enhancement of our games, we’re very happy to announce the release of the 2.1 update.

Update 2.1 features the Treasure Hunt Mission, created by a group of mission programmers from our community. The mission will have you searching for a stolen carrier, its crew and its precious and unique cargo. Also, after several years of ignoring petitions, the Commonwealth Economic Body has finally approved the creation of Large Crystal Fabs, available to all industry moguls across the universe. In military news, industry giant, Bala Gi Research, has taken a lucrative contract to improve enemy-detection algorithms in sensor systems, boosting Sector Patrol efficiency. As a result, several Spaceweed companies have taken out additional insurance policies on their freighters.

Again, the DevNet testers have been hard at work making sure that this update reaches you in the best condition possible. A big thanks to all who have helped in its development. Other features of the update include a performance boost, the functionality for the game to continue running while in windowed mode or minimised, improved tractor beam tow behaviour, additional marine information in several menus and several ships tweaked.

Terran Conflict players who bought their game from Steam are reminded that their Steam client will automatically update the game and that there is no need to download the patch from Egosoft.com.

11.Apr.09 EGOSOFT wishes all forum users a happy easter!  (71 Comments)
EGOSOFT and the forums' crew wish you Happy Easter! :)

As every year, we put the Easter Bunny into a space suit, stored some insider information in his cargobay and abandoned him somewhere in the forums to hide this information. This year there is further information about 2.1, and according to some rumours it could contain a new mission developed by community members. We were able to convince Ketraar to design a couple of astonishing wallpapers to give you a glance what you might expect for the update 2.1.

Friendly as the Easter bunny (one of his alias is Carlo the Curious I heard) is, he has left us a few hints. However, he enciphered them. If you can decode them, you might find something really surprising. ;)

1: Even the most venerable warrior sometimes needs the advice from other comrades. Don't be afraid of listening to their hints, and be brave enough to look down into the abyss' heart.

2: Search the wide Universe Hex quadrant 6B1. You shall see the one reffering to a game with Kings, Knights and Pawns.

3: The easter bunny told me, that these last words from the Boron Bala Gi in addition with those strange bunch of numbers and the great emptiness of space could help you to find an easter egg.

I just bought a load of spaceweed from a teladi dealer. This peace is just fantastic, I can't imagine how I lived without it in the past. It just feels like being in heaven... Oh, what a nice fluffy asteroid, it looks like it wants to hug me.

4: Some say an easter egg search is like a small treasure hunt. True enough, both may have their rewards if you look in the right part of the universe.

5: And finally he told me, that this logentry also could help you...

One day, long after I first entered the X-Universe, I encountered many new ships. But to my surprise, they didn't have cockpits, and even after searching for an age there was still no sign of them. But, finally, a vision from the godfather enlightened me.
Aron Danna - Flight log 51

And now, have fun with the Easter Egg hunt and Happy Easter! :)

    03.Apr.09 X3: Terran Conflict - Update 2.0 is here!  (280 Comments)
We're pleased to announce that Update 2.0 for X3: Terran Conflict, which features The Aldrin Missions, is now available for download from Egosoft.com.

After a few months of patient waiting since Update 1.4, players of X3: Terran Conflict can now get their hands on the 2.0 patch. This update, which has undergone more widespread testing than is normally the case, features not only an extension to the original Terran Conflict story, but also a new ship variation, new sectors to explore, Terran stations to build and much more adventure!

The Terran Conflict development team and our network of betatesters have been conducting their own version of Operation Final Fury against some of the niggling issues that our community has brought to our attention. Universe Traders, propping up bars in local trading stations, got a swift kick up the backside to get them back to work. The OTAS Boreas has undergone some much-needed balancing. A number of other key issues have also been addressed, including improved support for PCs equipped with more than 2GB of RAM.

Terran Conflict players who bought their game from Steam are reminded that their Steam client will automatically update the game and that there is no need to download the patch from Egosoft.com.

Owners of the X3: Terran Conflict PC-DVD (versions 1.0.1 to 1.4) are invited to download the 2.0 patch from here.

While you all download and start to enjoy X3: Terran Conflict 2.0, you can be assured that we at Egosoft will keep on beavering away, possibly at another little update called 2.1!

IMPORTANT NOTE: During the final packing of the 2.0 patch a data error occured, the effect of which did not become apparent until after the patch was released. This error has now been corrected and new versions of the patch will be offered as version 2.0a. For those who have already applied the 2.0 patch a smaller hotfix (version 2.0a) will be available. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and hope it does not affect your enjoyment of the game.

There is additional news on X3: Terran Conflict 2.0, as well as other news, in Edition 36 of the X-Universe News.
